Join CODEPINK Women for Peace in The International Day of Action to Shut Down Guantanamo on January 11, 2007 in Miami, Florida.

Miami for Peace is sponsoring this action with Global Exchange, United For Peace and Justice, the Bill of Rights Defense Committee, Veterans for Peace South Florida and many others. Peacemakers all over the world will protest the fifth anniversary of the first prisoners arriving in Guantanamo.

The Guantanamo prisoners have never been charged, tried or convicted of any crime. We are a nation of laws and our humanity is threatened when we accept or allow unjust imprisonment, torture and even death in the name of America.

Many of us will wear orange jumpsuits and hoods. We will not carry ID. We will each take on the name of one prisoner and stand for their rights all day.

The action in Miami will be on the highways into the Southern Command which is the US headquarters for Guantanamo, NW 36th St. & NW 87th Ave., Doral in Miami-Dade County, Florida, between 7:00 to 11:00am. Please take a moment to read the information from Witness Against Torture at www.witnesstorture.org
