Amnesty International Photo Op, January 11th. am On the morning of the 11th of January, Amnesty International UK will protest against the continued existence of Guantanamo Bay as an unlawful prison, illegally detaining approximately 465 people, some of whom have been held for five years. We will be setting up a stunt / photo opportunity where we will recreate the prison, there will be approx 200 + people, dressed in orange boiler suits, and positioned in lines inside the police's perimiter fencing. They will be asked to place themselves on their knees, bent forward, recreating one of the most classic Guantanamo images. There will be two to three men dressed in military unform with muzzled dogs on leashes walking amongst the men. (waiting on police permission) They will remain in place for 30 - 45 minutes.AIUK Banners and branding will be visible on the fencing. We will have photographers and recording on-site Local Group involvementLocal groups will be invited to participate in actions around the country by wearing orange boiler suits and asking people to take action in town centres and public places, they will be provided with media advisory support, details will be cirucalted to AIUK groups.
